Important Vocabulary: Penny, Nickel, Dime
Money comes in different shapes and sizes. It ranges from the small coins like Pennies to paper money like the 100 dollar bill. In the first lesson we will be talking about pennies, nickels, and dimes. · Penny - a penny is a coin that is equal to 1 cent. Out of all money it has the smallest value. One side of the coin has our previous President Abe Lincoln and the other side has Lincoln Memorial on it. · Nickel – a nickel is next in line with a value of 5 cents. On the front of the nickel is our previous President Thomas Jefferson and on the back side is President Jefferson’s home · Dime – the dime is next with a value of 10 cents. The front of the dime has President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the back of the dime pictures the olive branch |
